Technical Terms

bounding box

A bounding box, provided by the face detector, is a rectangular border that encloses the face.

embedding

The facial identity embedding is a numerical representation derived from a image, capturing unique features to enable accurate facial recognition.

face landmark

A large number of models employ 5-point landmarks that identify the left eye, right eye, left corner of the mouth, right corner of the mouth and the tip of the nose.

nms

Non-maximum suppression is a technique to reduce the number of overlapping bounding boxes, retaining only the most confident or representative ones.
